NAIDOC Week 2023 t-shirt

Huge congrats to our NAIDOC Tee comp winner, Nakia Cadd. Nakia is a Gunditjmara, Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung and Bunitj woman and deadly artist. 

The shirt represents this year's NAIDOC theme 'For Our Elders'. Describing the artwork, Nakia said:

“In my artwork I wanted to pay homage to our Elders past and present. For their resilience, strength and wisdom doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated. The various patterns represent the different songlines across Victoria, the stories of Country and the stories of our old people; Our Stories. The 'U' symbols represent our communities, whilst the colours I chose reflect those of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flags."

Tees are $30 ($20 for kids tees) for mob enrolled with the Assembly.

You can enrol with the Assembly if you're a Traditional Owner of Country in Victoria (living either in Victoria or interstate) or an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who has lived in Victoria for at least three of the last five years, and are 16 years old or over.
